Laser cutting dots!

I have worked with sequins quite a lot over the past year and was starting to get fed up with them, so I wanted to still use the circular shapes that create the average style sequin, after researching and visiting Premier Vision in Paris, I wanted to laser cut and fuse fabrics together and layer them up.

I have laser cut my dots out and I have now realised I want to keep the dots that left behind and some-how attach them onto another piece of fabric in the same position and order as they have been cut, but after working with digital stitch lines, does the laser cutting still have to just dots? Or can it resemble a running stitch too?
